[183] Malleson, George Bruce, engl. Offizier und Historiker, geb. 8. Mai 1825, gest. 1. März 1898, trat im Mai 1842 in das angloindische Heer, in dem er 1874 zum Obersten aufstieg. 1864–69 war er Herausgeber der »Calcutta Review«, 1869–77 Vormund des Maharadscha von Maisur und kehrte nach 35 Jahren unausgesetzten Dienstes 1877 nach London zurück.
