[671] Habershon, Samuel Osborne, in London, studierte im Guy's Hosp. daselbst, war Dozent der allgem. und spez. Pathologie und Therapie bei der mit demselben verbundenen Schule und Physician des Hospitals, wurde 1851 Dr. med. bei der Londoner Universität, 1856 Fellow des Roy. Coll, of Physic, bei welchem er 1874 bis 75 Censor, 1871, 77, 78, 79 Consil. war und bei dem er verschiedene Vorlesungen und Festreden hielt. Er veröffentlichte u.a.: »Pathological and practical observations on diseases of the alimentary canal etc.« (London, 2. edit. 1862; 3. edit. 1878; Philadelphia 1859; 1879) – »On the injurious effects of mercury in the treatment of disease« (1860) – »On diseases of the stomach, the varieties of dyspepsia etc.« (London 1866; 3. edit. 1879; Philadelphia 1879) – »On the pathology and treatment of some diseases of the liver« (Lettsomian lectures 1872) – »On the pathology of the pneumogastric nerve« (Lumleian lectures 1877) – »The advancement of science by experimental research. The Harveian oration« (1883) etc. H. starb 22. August 1889.
