[600] Newstead Abbey (spr. njūstĕd äbbĭ), ehemal. Augustinerpropstei in Nottinghamshire (England), am Wald von Sherwood, 17 km nördlich von Nottingham, wurde 1170 begründet, 1540 aufgehoben und war dann bis 1818 Eigentum der Familie Byron. Vgl. Irving, Abbotsford and N. (Lond. 1835).
