[629] Gream, George Thompson, studierte im St. George's Hosp. in London, begann seine Praxis in London um 1840, wurde Physician am Queen Charlotte's Lying-in Hosp., war Dozent der Geburtshilfe und Frauenkrankheiten bei der Grosvenor Place School of Medicine, wurde Physician Accoucheur der Prinzessin von Wales. Er publizierte: »Remarks on the diet of children, and on the distinctions between the digestive powers of the infant and the adult« (London 1847) – »The misapplication of anaesthesia in childbirth, exemplified by facts« (Ib. 1849) – »Employment of anaesthetic agents of midwifery« – »On the retention of mental functions during the employment of chloroform in parturition« (1853) und verschiedene Journalaufsätze. 1850 wurde er Doktor im King's College zu Aberdeen und 1867 Ehren-Mitglied des King's and Queen's College of Physicians in Irland. Nachdem er die Praxis niedergelegt hatte, lebte er zu Mixbury, Eastburne, Sussex, im Winter in Cannes und starb 20. Juli 1888.
